First Game

25.02.1967: Fortuna Düsseldorf v Borussia Mönchengladbach 2.2 (Bundesliga). Mönchengladbach, 2:0 down at halftime, played with the young and brillant Günter Netzer, Jupp Heynckes and Berti Vogts. A thrilling match that changed my life completely.

Best Game

19.06.2004: Netherlands v Czech Republic 2:3 (Euro 2004). The Czech team was 2:0 down after 20 minutes, but then they fought back. Smicer hit the winner two minutes from time. This match had only one motto: "Show me your tricks, I'll show you mine." Great stuff!

Worst Game

There were dozens of "worst games" in my football life. But there was "one worst game ever": In March 2002 I visitied a Russian friend in Moscow. On March 8th Spartak Moscow played against Rostselmash Rostov in the famous Luzhniki Stadium - a must see for me! There were two problems: Firstly the temperature was minus 15 degrees assisted by an ice-cold, cutting wind. And secondly both teams refused to play any reasonable football at these conditions - it ended 0:0. The coldest and most boring match of my life!

Small stadium with a capacity of only 24.000 spectators, but packed with absolutely football-crazy Turkish fans. Because the ground was that small you were really near to the action. In 1998 I was lucky to watch the top match between Galatasaray and Trabzonspor, ending 3-5 with three gooals in the dying minutes. During the whole match there were very loud chants and a lot of fireworks in an intensity I had never seen before. It's a shame that Ali Sami Yen doesn't exist anymore.
