Hillsborough Facts

  • The well-known Hillsborough disaster between Liverpool and Nottingham forest 15th April 1989 in F.A. cup semi final. 96 people died in the deadliest stadium disaster in British history. All took place at Hillsborough. (tom92swfc)
  • It was the first stadium in the world to have a cantilever roof spanning the entire length of the pitch. Until it was made a seated stand the Kop was the largest stand in Europe (jacpearce)
