Leeds United have been given planning permission to expand the capacity of Elland Road to 53,000.
The first phase will see the John Charles Stand expanded from 8,000 to 17,750 seats, followed by expansion of the Don Revie Stand from 10,500 to 15,300.
Construction work will begin at the end of the season with the stadium planned to remain open whilst the work takes place.
Once complete, the extra capacity will ease strain on the current 26,000 fans on the club's season ticket waiting list.

Leeds United are looking to expand the capacity of Elland Road to 50,000… if the club secure a return to the Premier League.
The club announced the plans as part of their 100th birthday celebrations and have spent the last 15 years in the Championship and League 1.
No formal plans have been drawn up yet and a planning application hasn’t been submitted, however the club’s plans to increase the height of the West Stand to match the current East Stand. This would increase the current 37,890 capacity up to around 50,000.
