About chester

First Game

First ever game I was taken to was on Saturday 11th April 1992 (1991-92 season).Opponents were Birmingham City in a 3rd Division game played at Moss Rose,Macclesfield when Chester groundshared their after leaving Sealand Road.We lost 1-0 to a last minute goal from Nigel Gleghorn infront of the biggest home gate in the two seasons we played at Macc,Which was 4,895.
First ever game at The Deva was on Saturday 2nd March 1996 (1995-96 season).Oppenents were Cardiff City again in a 3rd Division game.We won the game 4-0 with Ross Davidson,Chris Priest,Dave Rogers pen and Stuart Rimmer with the goals.Attendance for that was 2,308.Only missed I think 22 or 23 home games since in nearly 18 years of supporting Chester.Only missed 2 home games since we drew 1 each Swansea City on 2nd October 2004 (2004-05 season).Games I missed were against Salisbury City,Lost 1-0 and Ebbsfleet United,Lost 2-1 both in 2009-10 season.

Best Game

Too many to mention all for different reasons and occasions but the best for me sgtill has to be Scarborough on Saturday 17 april 2004 at The Deva.Winning the Conference with that squad Mark Wright built after the gloom and misery we'd suffered a few years before was just an unbelievable achievement really.Won the game 1-0 in front of a record 5.968 crowd in a day that'll I'll never forget.Still is the best promotion out of the 4 I've seen Chester win.It will be for a while yet until winning the Conference happens again,If it'll ever will happen again.Been to many more great games mostly away ones.Most problably from that season we won the Conference.Leigh RMI 6-2,Accy Stanley 2-0,Telford 2-0,Shrewsbury 0-0 all aways towards the end of that season.All etched in my mind forever along with the memeories of Daryl Clare and what that bloke did for us in his time.

Worst Game

Again far too many to mention but heres a few.Losing at home to Brighton 7-1 in the 1999-2000 season when were relegated to the conference in may 2000,Losing 6-0 in an FA Cup game at Cardiff in November 1998.3 trips to Carlisle losing all 3 conceding 13 goals.3 trips to Dagenham losing 3-0,6-2 and 6-0.3 trips to Barnet losing all of them 3-1,3-1 and 3-0.5 games at Hereford and not winning any.Going to Shrewsbury 8 times an never seeing us win their,The only time i never went we won 1-0.Thats the only time we ever won their.Beaten by Barrow in the FA Cup 4th qualifying round in 2001,That was a horrible embarrassing defeat that one was.Last worst day has to be Aldershot away in april 09.Needed a win to take it down to the last day of the season but we only managed a 2 all draw.That result more or less relegated us back to the Conference.Signalled pretty much the start of the beginning of the end for Chester City FC.

Stadium of Light and Aston Villas Villa Park for me are both equall to where I've seen Chester play.Played at the Stadium of Light twice,September 1998 and August 2004 losing both 3-0 in the League Cup.First time their the attendance was just over 22.000.Unbeleavable atmosphere their that night the noise was deafening.Second time I went their was just over 10.000 their.The capacity at the Stadium of Light was/is 49.000.The biggest ground I've ever seen Chester play in in any competition.Really is a great stadium to watch a club of Chesters size in.Along with how it was at Villa Park and Ewood Park.When we played Blackburn in the FA Cup 3rd round in January 2001.That was a surreal experience with over 3.600 Chester fans at Ewood Park that day.

went to villa park in sep 99,lost 5-0 in front of the biggest crowd we've played in for must be 25/30+ years,over 26.000 their.atmosphere was unbeleavably good and loud,must of bin a few thousand chester fans their.didnt deserve to lose this game 5-0,we did score a pen but it had to be retaken and when it was we missed it =(.

been to a few more nice,modern,loud stadiums in leagues and cups dwn the years with chester.been to blackburn in the fa cup 3rd round in 2001,wolves in aug 2005 in league cup,leeds in 06 in league cup,ipswich in fa cup in 07 and in league fixtures been to notts county,darlingtons oversized 25.000 all seater stadium,mk dons new soon to be 32.000 all seater stadium and bradford citys valley parade a few times.been to some great stadiums with my club im pleased to say =).

HALIFAX TOWN Been 3 times and never lost W1-0,D0-0 AND W3-1 fa cup.

Been to BARNET Three times L3-1,L3-1 AND L3-0.
Not seen us win in any of the 8 times I've been to games around London.We've lost all 8 of them.2 against Brentford,3 against Barnet and 3 against Dagenham.Completely abysmal record.
