First Game

First Southend game was November 1971 v Aston Villa in the 1st round of the FA cup. It was a 1-1 draw. I had been to many Spurs games as my dad and grandad were both season ticket holders.

Best Game

Southend 4, Newcastle 0. New year's day 1992. The result left us top of the now championship, our highest ever league position.

Worst Game

The second Millwall match at the New Den. A 1-0 defeat and we were miserable.

We secured promotion to the championship there, the facilities for the fans were very good and Swansea treated the club very well, laying on a champagne reception for the players and staff.
