First game I think was Forest v Southampton at Forest - we had relatives in Nottingham. It was mid 70's. I was bored at half-time and we left. Finished 3-3. First full game - Liverpool 7 Spurs 0. Ardiles and Villa's first game. Stood in the Kop, 8/9 years old. The love affair began !!
First game at Liverpool takes some beating, and away games are always good. Newcastle away, 2-2, Rush and Aldridge, pissing it down for 90 minutes, no roof on stands then, quality. Winning 5-4 at Leeds. But best for atmosphere has to be Liverpool Chelski semi in 2005. Never seen or heard anything like it. Ground was bouncing from 7pm onwards.
Remember driving over to Liverpool alone to see Liverpool Norwich at one of our darker times. We lost 1-0, Ian Crook in the last 10 minutes. That was pretty poor. Losing at home to Leeds 3-1.
Cos we always used to batter them there.
Cos it's vermin's ground.
