"Cray Valley (PM) FC - Badgers Sports Ground"

i visited here to see a South East Counties Premier Divison match between Cray Valley (Paper Mills) and AFC Croydon Athletic. The Millers have played here for some years, but this season have Ryman League Greenwich Borough as their tenants. However, as Boro play to a higher standard and have considerably more financial backing, the stadium is now decorated in their red and black colours as opposed to Cray Valley's green.

Location

The ground is located in a residential area of Eltham, in South East London and is approximately 20 minutes walk from two railway stations - Eltham and Kidbrooke. There is a MacDonalds less than 5 minutes walk away whilst Eltham High Street is about 15 minutes away. The ground itself has a decent sized car park with space for about 70 cars.

View

The ground is functional. The Man Stand (The Albert Leonard Skinner Stand) is on the far side from the clubhouse and holds about 100 seated whilst on the near touchline is a covered terrace which could hold another 100. The rest of the ground is uncovered and unterraced.

Facilities

There are toilets in the clubhouse and others in a portable unit next to the turnstiles. The male toilets also contained a washing machine where, presumable, the kit is washed !
There is no club shop for the Millers, although badges, scarfes and mugs are available from the turnstiles

Food & Drink

There is a snack bar attached to the club house which sells the normal fayre

Atmosphere

Croydon didn't appear to bring any fans. The locals made a bit of noise but there wasn't too much in the way of singing or chanting.
