"A Good Ground Going To Waste"

The Ricoh Arena is a great stadium. The location leaves a lot to be desired, not to mention a lot of ground to be covered. The facilities are new which obviously makes them top class and the infrastructure is fantastic. There doesn't seem to be an impaired view in the ground and I can only talk highly of the stadium.

On my one and, to date, only trip to the Ricoh it was an FA Cup Quarter Final between Chelsea and Coventry City so it was a sell-out crowd with a following of 5,000 Chelsea fans. But I've seen before and after this that it isn't always the case and I find it a bit of a shame that such a good stadium is made better use of.

Location

The nearest train station (Coventry) is about four miles away and so to get to the ground in a decent time you need to get a black cab which cost a good £10. However the cab I got didn't seem to know where he was going and ended up dropping us a mile from the stadium. Maybe the club should speak to the council about getting a station on the Coventry - Nuneaton line which runs right past the stadium.

Fantastic view of the pitch from my seat and probably every other seat in the house!

Served relatively quickly and the pie was nice.

Friendly and helpful.

Atmosphere

Not the best I've heard but a decent atmosphere. The design of the stadium helps keep the atmosphere inside the ground.
