trebor's review of The New Lawn

There are two things that Forest Green are famous for
1. It's Vegan & green living policy it's a shame that it's supporters don't follow it when it comes to attending.
2. The smallest locality to ever host a league club.
There's a third that will become evident to those that attend. The hill it may possibly beat West Brom's title as highest ground above sea level in the football league.

Location

Scenery is all it's got really, its in the sticks people moan of new grounds being situated on retail parks at them least you can get away efficiently, this is among a housing estate and surrounded by farmland on a B road up a very steephill. The ''Green'' ethos at the club certainly doesn't include the fans as the traffic is jammed up all the way on the hill meaning the service bus from Gloucester via Stroud is blocked by the shear volume of fans who drive often alone. The Park & Ride only serves the hill and does not go to any Rail Station. Any Carbon Footprint the club saves is totally lost on the unnecessary mileage and pollution caused by the traffic jam.
Bus 63 serves Gloucester & Stroud Railway Stations. give at least an hour just to get down the hill on the return. If its a nice day the route from Gloucester is a pleasant country drive through pretty villages.

View

In the home ends you are covered and have a choice of terrace or seats. Away fans have a tiny stand that may house less than 100 it's covered but the terrace is open.

Facilities

Small toilets no hot water and one dryer.

Food & Drink

Vegan ethos but poor hygiene standards no gloves, hair nets etc, cold burgers, the coriander saturated curry stinks, and a dirty table with vegan milk & vinegary tomato sauce left out in the open air even when it's warm.

Police & Stewards

Young kids with an older colleague, Police turned up at final whistle but done nothing about the traffic after.

Atmosphere

Two clubs who's fans support/ed someone else not so long ago seems they like their other clubs songs too.
