max54 has rated Second Meadow 3.0 out of 5.
More than adequate for the level of football.
Situated to the north of the town not far off the A1. On this basis convenient for the travelling fan. There is a fish and chip shop opposite the turnoff into Fairfield Road.
Just a couple of small covered stands either side of the pitch. Plenty of room pitch side.
Did not use the club house. It's where the toilets are situated.
Very helpful staff at the little tea kiosk. (In the first half she went off and got me a lapel badge as promised.)
No police but a friendly and helpful steward assisted me in negotiating the large puddles in the car park. He also advised about the Covid restrictions particularly in respect of getting a drink from the clubhouse.
The club Chair was on hand at the turnstile to sort out 'track and trace'. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly.
This is a very tight little ground completely surrounded as it is by a high metal wall of battleship grey. A tad grim but it keeps the sound in.
