"A nice little ground"

Ground 311 on this site. 11/11/2017. Great Wakering v FC Romania FA Vase 2-2 AET. Really nice little ground tucked away in Gt. Wakering which itself is tucked away beyond Shoeburyness. My son's teacher is Captain of Gt. Wakering. Looked like a nice clubhouse although didn't go in. Nice program. Good game with both teams taking the lead and a late equalisor from GT Wakering. Good away support from FCR.

Location

Easy by car with a decent sized car park. Public transport would be bus from Shoebury or Southend.

View

Perfect view from all around the pitch. We didn't go in the stand but stood behind the goal nearest the entrance and 3 of the 4 goals were at our end so had a great view.

Facilities

Didn't use but club house looked very nice so assume toilets ok.

Food & Drink

Can't comment as didn't try anything but there was a long queue which is a good sign.

Police & Stewards

No police and no real evidence of stewards either and there was no need for them.

Atmosphere

Good atmosphere for this level, all due to the FC Romania fans who sang throughout, banged a drum, hooters etc but all in a good spirit.
We will probably go to the replay at Cheshunt - another new ground!
