"Garden by the Beach"

trebor's review of Bastion Road

A small basic ground that fits the criteria of the Cymru Premier League; One long stand with three rows of seats and a small disabled covered area on the clubhouse end. A lumpy pitch that was long, they hadn't played a first team game in a while so it could have been better.
On a warm summer day it'd be a good venue

Location

In a large park on the Coastal side of town that is split along its main street all year pubs and cafes to the north and seaside amenities to the south along with the ground. Its in Bastion Gardens which is also the name of the estate. Walk 10 minutes along Bastion Road turn right at the chippy and head to the far end which is the only entrance. It's in a nice area with plenty to do in summer.

View

Even with the support posts it was close enough to the pitch to have a good view although this means the legroom at the front is tight which is also the route to the whole stand, the back looked cramped, the middle was spacious but is an alternative way around the front. There is a path behind the stand.

Facilities

Didn't use but looked like they were next to the clubhouse.

Food & Drink

Nice Burgers fair priced served by volunteers rubbish polystyrene cups without lids, Pot Noodles also available. Clubhouse with inside seating serving alcoholic drinks, no rules on drinking outside when the games on at this level.

Police & Stewards

Had to deal with a very large, gobby fan who tried to get to the ref at half-time, they were helped by both clubs officials in shutting him up. Karma prevailed as he missed his bus connection that turned up 5 minutes after local kids had told him it's gone.

Atmosphere

Nothing really other than the bellows of one man
