"Best awaygame of my life"

I went into this with low hopes of winning as Portsmouth were top of the league and had only lost once all season. I had a bad record watching Charlton previously away and was delighted aswell as the other 899 Charlton fans who were very loud throughout. My best away day experience. A 2-1 win for Charlton on a Tuesday night.

Location

Very heavy traffic from about 2 miles away from the ground. Unsure whether near train station or not. Plenty of pubs nearby.

Good legroom for today's standards and a great view from where we sat near the front.

Facilities

Toliets altough i didnt use them. Good ground for the league one. A 21 odd thousand stadium. Didnt use much of the facilities but looked good for league one.

Food & Drink

Nice but expensive although could have been worse. I brought a Cheeseburger for 4 pounds and a diet coke for 90p. Cheeseburger was nice and the coke was fine. There looked like too little food for the hungry away fans although i left for food before half time so this was fine for me.

Police & Stewards

There was an appropriate amount for the occasion although were not made clear that away fans needed to go to the same turnstile. We were misinformed by the police who sent us the wrong way to turnstile 23 and were not told to just go straight to the same turnstile all fans must go.

Atmosphere

Loud support from Charlton although this was certainly helped by 2-1 win. Portsmouth were outsang throughout but loud for a losing team and the "Blue army" chant was very loud by the fans once it got started.
