"Midweek evening match"

This was my first visit to Griffin Park so with plans for a new stadium for Brentford I was desperate to visit while I could. I chose to buy a ticket in the lower tier which is the terrace area, the views are not that good due to supporting pillers, also moving around isn't easy because of the rails along the terrace and being a night game there wasn't much lighting. The atmosphere from the Brentford fans was none existant until they went 2-0 up and as for the travelling Birmingham fans we didn't have a lot to shout about losing 5-0.

Location

Location is OK just a few minutes walk from Brentford High Street and about 5 minutes walk from Brentford Station, how'ever because I now live on the South Coast it was easy for me getting a train from Clapham Junction but if you've got to get back to London Euston as several Blues fans did it's not so easy as Brentford as no tube station. Plenty of pubs both around the ground and in Brentford High Street.

Did'nt really enjoy the terrace stand it was very small an difficult to get out to the toilets because of railings scattered around the terrace and the light wasn't good, I did take a look at the upper tier and would imagine the leg room in the seats wouldn't have been very comfortable.

Facilities

The toilets were ok once you'd manouvered yourself off the terracing.

Food & Drink

No alcohol but the pies & burgers were fairly priced the London.

Police & Stewards

The stewards were good not over the top.

Atmosphere

Did'nt ear the home supporters at all until they went 2-0 up. Birmingham were that awful even the Blues fans were taking the P out of there own side. Had a few drinks around Brentford before the match both home and away supporters mixing with no problems.
