"Solid Ground"

Overall boro was a good away day, perhaps made better by the fact we came home with three points! The ground is nice, and I would say that you could get a good view anywhere in the away end.

Location

We took a train to York, which was just shy of 2 hours from Kings Cross, and from there we drove to the ground(a family member who lives in York lent us his car for it), and we parked in a nearby parking lot which was a conveniently short walk to the ground. However it was unfortunately a pain to get out of after the game due to traffic.

I got a good view at boro, right by the corner flag, and about 20 rows up, which is a perfect height in my opinion.

Food & Drink

Plenty of choices for food and drink around the ground, and prices inside the ground for food and drink are reasonable.

Police & Stewards

The stewards and police just about kept everything under control, when it could have kicked off at one point, and were also helpful when I was looking for the toilet and one steward saw me looking and pointed me in the direction of it. However there was an inadequate number of them post-match, during a slightly more hostile atmosphere.

Atmosphere

Overall the atmosphere inside the ground was very good, there was a very good set of home fans, and both sides exchanged well-natured banter throughout the game. However after the game unfortunately a few boro fans tried to block the streets to try to pick a fight with any West Ham fans who got near them, and although their plan ultimately failed, the atmosphere outside was very hostile and things could have kicked off very quickly, very easily.
