The Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium is best known to all including taxi drivers as Al Ahli Sports Club. The ground is currently shared in 2019 by two clubs Al Ahli and Al Sailiya who play in the top division of the Qatar Stars League. The football ground is part of Al Ahli's overall Sports Club which has tennis, swimming, basketball and handball. The football stadium has a capacity of 12,000 with the Main Stand the only one with a covered stand.
The attendances are rarely high in Qatar for normal league matches. Best tip that I can give is when buying a ticket online is to purchase a VIP ticket cost 50 riyals (around £10). This gives you a lovely padded seat in Main Stand and regular free drinks and food whilst watching match served to your seat.
