"Always better on a baking hot day!"

Ground no 400. Saturday 9th July 2022. Pre-season friendly: Rochester v ?????? 0-6? Opposition from a higher league but will have to check who they were. Lovely hot day, seemed like a friendly place and burgers were good. Should be celebrating the 400 but it's possible I've missed the odd ground so it's my best guess. Ground is a bit basic and it's up high so imagine on a cold winter's day it could be cold but in July it was lovely. After match went to see the Specials at Rochester Castle so makes this whole day quite memorable given subsequent passing of Terry Hall.

Location

Easy by car just off the M32 but a long uphill walk from Strood station - and yes it's in Strood not Rochester.

Food & Drink

My memory is that the food was good and girls on the tea bar were friendly.
