grifftinfoilhat's review of Langsford Park

Having loved in Devon for many years but not visited Tavistock before I was well up for this one. It's about a 15 minute walk from wetherspoons on the edge of town set against a backdrop of rolling hills, it was a glorious July evening for another Cardiff pre season friendly. The club had gone all out on the welcome, flying Welsh flags and playing mae hen wlad fy n'hadau before kick off. Then we beat them 7-2.

Location

Easy to find on a day when a League club is in town for a friendly, not sure how big the crowds are for a regular SW peninsular league game. It's about 10 - 15 minute walk from the bus station. And about an hour on the bus from Plymouth.

View

The ground is banked slightly behind the railings so I got a good view from wherever I was. The stand near the tunnel looked modern with comfortable looking seats, the one by the dugouts was falling apart with 30 year old plastic chairs.

Facilities

Maybe the finest football toilets I've been too. Certainly non league. It was a pleasure to use them.

Food & Drink

Is it always like this? Amazing. First Hut - excellent pasty for £1.50. Then the barm pot burger van cheeseburger for £3. Then CHURROS! £4 with Nutella. Well done tavistock.

Also, tribute and rattler in the excellent clubhouse.

Also, also for drinks in town, Tavistock has one of the best spoons I've been to.

Police & Stewards

No old bill, but plenty of friendly volunteer stewards.

Atmosphere

Not Galatasaray, but a nice sense of visiting a warm, welcoming community orientated club. Everyone had a splendid evening and I had Churros.
