"Impressive, Very Impressive!"

facebook-user-55935's review of Wembley Stadium

At the time of writing I have attended five matches at the new Wembley Stadium, and all I can say is, it's impressive. I do however prefer Millennium Stadium, but that's not the point.

As you approach Wembley from Wembley Park Station all that you can really pay attention to is the arch. Then the rest of the stadium finally dawns on you and you do appreciate that it really is quite a spectacle. I don't think I've seen so much glass in all my life. The statue of Bobby Moore really is the cherry on top of the cake.

Once inside, it takes what seems like forever to get up four or five sets of escalators if you're sat in the upper tier, but once you're there, the view is worth it. The view of the pitch is awesome to say the least. However, prepare yourself with ample stretches and warm ups for the walk down after the match as it takes a long time and will really tire you out.

Location

Relatively easy access if using the London Underground as Wembley Park is served by both the Jubilee and Metropolitan Lines. Only about a miles walk up Wembley Way to get to the stadium, so quite good really.

View

Good view of the pitch wherever I have sat and don't imagine there to be many bad views looking around the stadium.

Fairly comfortable. Adequate leg room, and the seats seem a bit wider than at most Club stadiums.

Facilities

Adequate but could be better considering the amount of money that went into building the stadium. Always quite clean

Food & Drink

Over priced and not worth what you pay by any means

Police & Stewards

Police are always fairly cooperative. Stewards seem to be quite uncooperative on the other hand and seem to have a poor grasp of English, which doesn't help when turnstiles break (a surprisingly frequent occurrence) and you're trying to get in in time for kick off.

Atmosphere

This is the let down. For some reason, it seems that no team apart from a select few can get a good atmosphere generated here. I'm not sure what it is, but I would guess it to be the corporate ring between the Lower and Upper Tiers.
