"Good Modernised Ground, Loyal Fans and top Atmosphere!"

Ground has been bought almost completely up-to-date since being re-built ever since the early 90s.

For away fans the stand they sit in is still on its own... but maybe that is a good thing, it certainly helps keep the sets of fans apart. Had Charlton kept there Premiership status just for a few more years we may have got our planning permission to go ahead with our plans to make the ground a complete 40,000 seater stadium! A look that would have somewhat mirrored Old Trafford in style!

For atmosphere you will do well to find anywhere better than the Valley when its packed to the rafters for a big game... make that any game in fact!

Charlton fans are fairly loyal and I am sure they will still turn up in their thousands even after our 2nd relegation in 3 seasons to League 1! To be fair the stadium is far too good for League 1... but its up to the management and team to get themselves back up... Watch this space...

Location

A fairly easy ground to find, plenty of signs around the ground for a few miles and with the Blackwall tunnel and Woolwich ferry nearby it is fairly easy to find once you are over the south side of the Thames!

With the ground situated fairly close to a main road you will find it hard to park on a packed matchday... you may have to use nearby shopping car parks or park a bit further away!

View

Nothing wrong with the view of the pitch... if you're an away fan, the stand is a little flatter than the rest of the ground and if you're small then make sure you move about so you're not sitting behind someone obscuring your view! Otherwise the pitch is easily visible!

Facilities

The facilities are fairly good at the Valley, toilets are fairly spacious as well as the concourse.

Food & Drink

I have to say I am never impressed with the quality of food or drink at the Valley where the pints of Lager can be flat all too often and for the pricing policy they have there the food and drink don't quite match up!

Police & Stewards

Always safety first at the Valley... they always seem over-stewarded and over-policed from what I can see.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere at the Valley as I already have said is top notch... just since dropping into the Championship the atmosphere has died at times and games of not such significance... I can only imagine what it will be like in League 1! But the drums will never stop beating...
