"Now much improved"

dadat320's review of Son Moix

San Moix used to be one of those stadia that suffered from having a running track between spectators and the pitch. Not any more. Both sides have been modernised and seating brought to the pitch edge, one end has now been filled with seating and the other is being developed. This being early September 2023, I estimate it’ll be ready for 2024-25 season. I expect that will become the away end. Away fans have a small section in the north west corner now, but when I attended RCD Mallorca vs Athletic Club (Athletic Bilbao). Many away fans were mixed with home fans having bought tickets on the day. Tickets are not cheap €45 cheapest to €75, excluding VIP seats etc. for La Liga 2023-24 season. Ticket office is in the car park area by entrance gate 5. Takes cash or card.

Location

San Moix is only 3km outside Palma, north west of the centre. Easy to get to by public transport, but easier by taxi. Cheap and fast. Not so easy getting back unless you prebook a cab.

View

Great view, but be aware that if you are in the east stand for a day game at the star, or end of the summer you will get hot (30+ C) and need a hat/cap.

Facilities

Modern easy to get in, move about, find your seat etc. good loos. Good food and drink at the ground, non alcoholic beer included, well priced. They have a sort of party bar outside, near the car park.

Food & Drink

See above.

Police & Stewards

Friendly.

Atmosphere

Good atmosphere with lots of local island pride.
