bigaitch has rated Occupation Road 3.5 out of 5.
Occupation Road was a large old school ground with decent facilities. It was terraced all the way round with a raised grandstand that straddled the half way line and had, from memory about 600 seats. The dressing rooms were underneath and a central tunnel in the stand allowed access to the pitch. The only other cover was the far side which was a vast terrace.
I visited twice in the eighties and it is fair to say the ground had seen better days. However a lick of paint and a bit of TLC could have made it great again.
Sadly at the time the club were in a bit of decline and their fan base was not huge. What made it worse was a few of them were keen on causing trouble which meant everyone had to be on their guard. Nonetheless as a ground it was good.
Not far from the town centre and there was loads of parking.
As stated, the ground had seen better days, but it afforded a good view of the action.
The Social Club at the ground was homely and did a decent pint. The building is still standing on Cannock Road, and in use as a gym I believe, and is the only part that remains, the rest having been demolished years ago.

No Police, stewards friendly enough
Could be a bit intimidating if the locals got upset.
