Thursday 15th January 2026
Real Sociedad have opened a new stadium to be used by their B and Women's teams.
The stadium, known as the Estadio de Zubieta has been built at the club's training complex and has a capacity of 4,000.

Monday 12th January 2026
Leeds United have been given planning permission to expand the capacity of Elland Road to 53,000.
The first phase will see the John Charles Stand expanded from 8,000 to 17,750 seats, followed by expansion of the Don Revie Stand from 10,500 to 15,300.
Construction work will begin at the end of the season with the stadium planned to remain open whilst the work takes place.
Once complete, the extra capacity will ease strain on the current 26,000 fans on the club's season ticket waiting list.

Polish side Ruch Chorzow have unveiled designs for a new stadium.
The new ground will also include a restaurant, museum and gym and is planned to have a final capacity of 22,000 with construction due to start in 2027.

Saturday 20th December 2025
Red Bull Bragantino have released plans to build a new 20,000 seater stadium.
The ground would be built on the site of the club's current home in Sao Paulo and will be known as the Red Bull Arena Nabi Abi Chedid.

Germany has won the rights to host the 2029 Women's Euros, fighting off bids from Poland as well as a joint proposal from Denmark and Sweden.
The tournament will be hosted in eight different venues across the country, all of which have a capacity of more than 40,000 with the exception of the 26,000 seater Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg.
The Olympiastadion in Berlin which hosted the 2006 World Cup final and 2024 Euros final, will not be a host venue.
Germany has targeted selling one million tickets for the tournament.

USL side Oklahoma City have revealed plans to build a new 10,000 seater stadium.
The new ground will be built close to the new arena planned for NBA team Oklahoma City Thunder.
The stadium will cost $120m to build and is planned to open in January 2028.

Nottingham Forest have announced plans for a second phase of redeveloping the a city Ground which would take the capacity up to 52,000.
The club had already announced plans to renovate two sides of the stadium to take capacity to 45,000. This second phase would see another 7,000 seats added to the Brian Clough Stand to take the capacity to 52,000.
Forest are going to get planning approval in 2026.

Poland are planning a major expansion to the PGE Narodowy stadium increasing its capacity from 58,000 to 80,000.
The move comes as Poland plans to bid for the rights to host the summer Olympics in 2040 or 2044. The plans would also require a new stadium to be built in Warsaw. That stadium would be much smaller, with an expected capacity of around 20,000.

USL side Union Omaha have released plans for a new 6,500 capacity stadium.
The new stadium will cost $115m to build and should be ready to open in 2028.
Once open, the stadium will also host a planned new women's football team.

Thursday 27th November 2025
Dutch side Excelsior have announced plans to build a new 7,5000 seater stadium on the site of their current ground.
The Rotterdam club currently play in Eredivisie's smallest stadium with a capacity of just 4,500.
No cost or timelines have been revealed, but it has been confirmed that part of the wider development will also include the construction of 600 new homes.

Tuesday 25th November 2025
Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium has partially reopened following two and a half years of construction work.
The stadium re-opened with Barca's 4-0 win over Athletic Club. The capacity was capped at 45,000 with the club holding to increase this to 60,000 in the coming months.
Once complete, the stadium capacity will be 105,000.

German side St Pauli are exploring options to expand their Millerntor-Stadion.
The ground has a current capacity of just over 29,500 and is regularly sold out. The club's president is seeking to expand the stadium to between 40,000 and 50,000 capacity.
