Survey reveals fans' top 10 ways to improve matchdays

Survey reveals fans' top 10 ways to improve matchdays

Friday 27th January 2023

A fan survey of over 11,000 people conducted in several European nations has revealed the top 10 ways supporters would like to improve their matchday experience.

Fans of football, basketball, tennis, volleyball and cycling voted the following as their most-desired changes to matchdays:

  1. Live music at breaks/half-time
  2. Better facilities for disabled fans
  3. Earpieces to hear live manager/player communication
  4. VR experiences to show the players' view
  5. In-game supporter engagement (man of the match voting or kiss-cam)
  6. Retail outlets for matchday shopping
  7. Bottomless brunch before the match
  8. TV screens on back of seats to watch other entertainment
  9. Spa facilities with a pitch view
  10. Themed fancy dress match days for fans in the crowd

Almost half of the people surveyed didn't attend a live sporting event in 2022 (the other half must have gone to matches in America), but the list is an interesting insight into the changes that may come into football in future years (hopefully not!).
