Marbella FC set to build new 18,000 seater stadium

Wednesday 29th July 2020

Spanish side Marbella FC have unveiled plans to build a new 18,000 seater stadium.

The Spanish Segunda B (3rd tier) side are planning to demolish their current Estadio Municipal de Marbella and build a new ground which would also feature an underground car park and hotel with swimming pool.

The new stadium will be almost three times as big as their current 7,000 capacity ground and signals the club's intent to climb into La Liga. Marbella lost out on promotion to the Segunda league last season after losing in the play offs. The club was only formed in 1997 and has never been higher than the 3rd division.
