"First Away Day Was Amazing!"

has rated Victory Road 4.0 out of 5.

andywilkins99's review of Victory Road

I went to Leiston on Saturday 18th April 2015 with it being my side Canvey Island FC's last away game of the season on a coach. It took me 2 hours to get there on the coach and I was quite satisfied with the stadium which is called the LTAA aka Victory Road.

It was rather an open stadium that I didn't expect to see. It had nice seating on one far side but that was as far as it went for prime seating.

The fellow away fans I was with made the atmosphere a lot more better than what the home fans were giving it and it actually helped us get a point there.

I found that the home fans were very quiet but they made up for that in good customer service.

We ended the game at 1-1 and I was satisfied enough so much that I would happily come back again next season!

Location

I found it a bit unexpecting where the ground was as it was rather hidden in the middle of nowhere really despite there being a few pubs nearby and a park along with a train station. But it was nice that it was hidden for some reason.

View

I didn't sit at the game but I found the pitch to be in quite a dry form and was in desperate need of a watering. The hut where myself and my fellow away fans were in helped us with making an atmosphere in the 2nd half!

Facilities

I found there to be only a few toilets which were by the changing rooms and it wasn't easy to find them. Nevertheless, they were clean and they were very insulating which was good.

Food & Drink

I found the chips to be quite appalling and the burger to be very chewy which wasn't to my liking. There wasn't a massive que at half time for burgers though which was good.

Police & Stewards

I found that there was only perhaps 1 or 2 stewards at the game which I thought was a tad poor for a game and I found there was no police on site to help with any queries.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere from the home crowd was poor but I believe that my side (Canvey Island FC), made up for that with the noise we made in both halves with the 2nd half being a memorable half.
