MLS season resumes with tournament at Disney World

Friday 10th July 2020

The Major League Soccer season has resumed with the league organising a mini knockout tournament hosted in Florida.

The "MLS is Back" Cup sees all 26 teams split into 6 groups with the top half of each group qualifying for a knockout tournament. All points gained during the group stages will be carried over to the Eastern and Western Conference when the league returns to normal.

The whole tournament is being held at Walt Disney World in Florida with all matches being played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The tournament kicked off with the "Sunshine State Derby" - a first ever meeting between Orlando City and newcomers Inter Miami. Orlando came out 2-1 winners with an injury time goal from Portuguese star Nani.
