Liverpool look to increase Anfield capacity to 61,000

Saturday 30th November 2019

Liverpool have unveiled plans to increase the capacity of Anfield to 61,000.

The Premier League leaders and last season's Champions League winners plan to rebuild the Anfield Road Stand. This new 16,000-seater structure will add an extra 7,000 seats, making Anfield the 3rd largest stadium club stadium in England after Old Trafford and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It's the second time that the ground has been expanded in recent years, after the main stand was rebuilt in 2016.

The club are currently at the planning phase, but are expected to spend around £60m on the project.
