Leeds planning to increase capacity of Elland Road to 50,000

Leeds United are looking to expand the capacity of Elland Road to 50,000â€¦ if the club secure a return to the Premier League.

The club announced the plans as part of their 100th birthday celebrations and have spent the last 15 years in the Championship and League 1.

No formal plans have been drawn up yet and a planning application hasnâ€™t been submitted, however the clubâ€™s plans to increase the height of the West Stand to match the current East Stand. This would increase the current 37,890 capacity up to around 50,000.
