World Cup 2026: Top US Stadiums For UK Fans

World Cup 2026: Top US Stadiums For UK Fans

The inaugural FIFA Club World Cup (current format) came to a thrilling end with Chelsea overcoming the all conquering PSG by three goals to nil to become the first team to win the newly revamped competition.

Spread across North America, the revamped FIFA Club World Cup has given fans a glimpse into the stadiums that will host matches at the 2026 World Cup. The Club World Cup has given fans an insight into how these stadiums function and what the spectacle could potentially look like when the World Cup kicks off.

Five stadiums that featured in the Club World Cup will also host games at the 2026 World Cup. They include the Mercedes Benz Stadium (Atlanta), Hard Rock Stadium (Miami), MetLife Stadium (New Jersey), Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia) and Lumen Field (Seattle).

Gambling.com, a data-driven sports and betting media platform that also analyses trends across popular casinos online, sourced data from the five stadiums in the FIFA Club World Cup that will also be in the 2026 World Cup. Each stadium was evaluated on goals/action (average goals per stadium), customer reviews (Google), distance to travel/cost and atmosphere (average attendance percentage).

World Cup 2026

Big Bucks in Atlanta, Long Haul to Seattle

The Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta is the most expensive stadium to travel to with a cost of a single plane ticket from London to be almost £300 more than any other location. The cheapest stadium to fly to is the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, however fans arriving into JFK airport will expect over an hour and a half travel time on public transport from the airport to the stadium which could bump up the overall cost.

The MetLife Stadium has just seen Chelsea win the Club World Cup, now the 82,500 capacity stadium is now gearing itself up to play host to arguably the most watched sporting event on the planet, the World Cup final.

Understandably the furthest stadium to travel to is the Lumen Field in Seattle, the proximity to the west coast of North America from London, UK compared to the other stadiums means it is over 500 km further than the next furthest stadium. Those distances in a plane seems futile but if you're a fan looking to watch the multiple games, the west coast only has four stadiums while the rest are played centrally and on the east coast.

Fan‑Fav Venue: Atlanta's Mercedes‑Benz Stadium Tops Customer Lists

Fans from around the world have visited these stadiums, they will judge them on hospitality, functionality, facilities, price etc. According to Google reviews, the extraordinary Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia is the highest ranked stadium by customers, with a score of 4.7 out of 5.

Opened in 2017 the Mercedes-Benz stadium is home to the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC. It seats approximately 80,000 fans and has a stunning pin-wheel roof that makes it one of the most distinctive stadiums in the world. Inside there is a halo board that offers a 360 degree LED video display, giving fans the ultimate experience.

The Hard Rock Stadium in Miami sits a close joint second with the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and the Lumen Field in Seattle. They all have a score of 4.6 out of 5. Surprisingly even though it will host the World Cup final the MetLife Stadium finished bottom of the list with a respectable 4.5.

All Vibes in Miami, All Action in Atlanta

The revamped FIFA Club World Cup could be considered a success in terms of action and atmosphere. In the latter stages of the tournament the games sparked into life. The semi-finals and the final saw huge crowds with 81,118 people packing out the MetLife Stadium to see Chelsea pick up the trophy.

According to our research the most atmospheric stadium that will be at the World Cup was the Miami Hard Rock Stadium with an average attendance of 55,099. Situated within the heart of the hustle and bustle of downtown Miami, the Magic City clearly embraced soccer and supported every team that came to town.

The stadium that saw the most action (goals), was the stunning Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Although it only held six games throughout the tournament, 20 goals were scored resulting in an average goals score per game of 3.3.

Following our research of the FIFA Club World Cup and the stadiums that will feature at the World Cup, a trip to Miami might be worthwhile if you are looking for a party atmosphere while Atlanta has proven the place to see goals.
