World Cup 2026 stadium guide - ground details, capacity and match schedule

World Cup 2026 stadium guide - ground details, capacity and match schedule

The World Cup group stage is already well underway and teams from the top nations are looking forward to the knockout stage, where the action and excitement will reach another level.

This year's edition will feature 5 knockout rounds after the group stage:

The round of 32 begins in Inglewood on June 28. Fans of the tournament will be checking out the BetUS World Cup 2026 guide for tips on which teams will make it the furthest.

The host nations have already stunned the world with the amazing stadiums which have been hosting group matches. This guide will concrete on the stadiums selected to host the final knockout games, from the quarter-finals onwards. All of these games will take place in the USA, and all of them at the home of NFL teams, with just one shared by an MLS team.

Quarter-final 1: Boston

July 9, 16:00 local time
Gillette Stadium, 64,146 capacity

The first of the 2026 quarter-finals will take place at Gillette Stadium, close to Boston in Massachusetts. The stadium is home to the New England Patriots and is actually the smallest of the grounds hosting matches in the final stages of the competition.

Quarter-final 2: Los Angeles

July 10, 12:00 local time
SoFiStadium, 70,492 capacity

The ulta-modern (and ultra-expensive) SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles will host the second quarter-final on July 11. Controversially, the stadium won't be semi-final or final, despite it being the newest and most expressive stadium in the entire tournament. The stadium was originally opened in 2016 at a cost of over $5bn. It serves as the home of Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.

Quarter-final 3: Miami

July 11, 17:00 local time
Hard Rock Stadium, 64,478 capacity

Miami's Hard Rock stadium will host the 3rd quarter-final - the first game of a double-header on Saturday July 19th. The ground will also be the venue for the 3rd place play-off a week later. It's a fairly unique stadium, sitting in the footprint of the Miami grand prix circuit whilst also serving as the home ground to Miami Dolphins (NFL) and college football team, Miami Hurricanes.

Quarter-final 4: Kansas

July 11, 20:00 local time
Arrowhead Stadium, 69,045 capacity

The last of the quarter-finals takes place at Kansas City Chiefs' Arrowhead Stadium. The ground is well-renowned to be one of the loudest in the NFL, despite it having no roof. Opened as far back as 1972, it is the oldest stadium on this list. Kansas are exploring rennovating the stadium, with plans in place to invest upto $800m on the ground in the not-too-distant future.

Semi-final 1: Dallas

July 14, 14:00 local time
AT&T Stadium, 70,649 capacity

The first semi-final kicks off on Tuesday July 14th at 14:00 local time in Texas. The match will take place at Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium. The ground was opened in 2009 at a cost of $1.3bn, it features a retractable roof and can actually be configured to a capacity of over 100,000 - the stadium holds the record for the largest ever regular season NFL crowd when 105,121 fans saw the Cowboys take on the New York Giants in 2009.

Semi-final 1: Atlanta

July 15, 15:00 local time
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, 68,239 capacity

The second semi-final will be hosted by the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Wednesday July 15th, with a 15:00 kick off (local time). The stadium is one of the most-used outside of the World Cup, playing host to Atlanta Falcons (NFL), Georgia Bulldogs (college football) and MLS soccer's Atlanta United. In fact, it's the only stadium on this list which also regularly hosts association football matches.

Final: New Jersey

July 19, 15:00 local time
MetLife Stadium, 80,663 capacity

The World Cup 2026 final will be held at MetLife stadium in New Jersey (just outside New York City). The stadium is a controversial choice for some, with strong cases put forward by both SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The MetLife itself has a capacity of over 80,000 and is the home ground of the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets. It was originally opened in 2010 at a cost of $1.6bn.
