Top Football Grounds to Visit this Summer

From Anfield to Old Trafford, football stadiums have long been considered landmarks not just for fans of football, but for architectural enthusiasts, tourists and many more in between looking to visit famous hotspots across the United Kingdom. Some football grounds stand head and shoulders above others and in this article, we'll be getting to know a little more about some of the top stadiums to visit this summer.

Anfield

Home to world-famous premier league side Liverpool FC, Anfield is one of the most prominent stadiums in the UK and boasts the ability to hold a capacity of over 53,000 fans. With a range of features and facilities to enjoy, not to mention access to the city centre just a short journey away, Anfield is certainly worth a visit, even if it's just for a few photos of the stadium itself to share with your sports at Midnite friends.

Wembley Stadium

Although the new Wembley Stadium is one of the most ground-breaking architectural designs in London. The original structure however, is something that has fascinated fans for decades, with a capacity of 82,000 people, which reached to almost 130,000 when Bolton Wanderers played West Ham in 1923. It's certainly a work of art and took hundreds of construction workers to build and since then it has been upgraded with the all-new stadium of the same name.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Considered the headquarters for Spurs fans, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a name synonymous with footballing greats. It's recognised as the third biggest football ground in England, with a very comfortable capacity of almost 63,000, fully modernised features and a host of local landmarks to keep tourists on their toes. For fans of Tottenham however, just being inside the stadium can be as exhilarating as it is enjoyable – and this is why it's worth visiting this summer.

Emirates Stadium

Home of one of the most well-known teams in the world, the Emirates Stadium is where Arsenal can be found when playing at home, complete with a museum, guided tours, events for members and a range of features for fans to enjoy. It's capable of holding almost 61,000 fans and was designed to captivate the heart and mind whether you're viewing from inside of the stadium or outside.

Old Trafford

With a capacity of almost 75,000 and playing host to the Red Devils themselves, Old Trafford is the number one destination for fans of Manchester United. The seating has the infamous United insignia neatly implemented so that you can see the name from high up, even from a plane or helicopter, concreting that this stadium as one of the most prominent to visit this summer.
