The Best Premier League Games of the 2020/2021 Season

The Best Premier League Games of the 2020/2021 Season

Let's face it - the 2020/2021 football season was an odd one. The atmosphere changed for obvious reasons - but thankfully, world-class football didn't slow down. There are plenty of great moments from the Premier League in the past 12 months that are worth rewatching. Right here, right now - we've lined up our absolute favourites.

West Ham Bring It Back

Tottenham Hotspur, back in October 2020, were scaling the heights. As of the 18th, they were knocking the Hammers back pretty harshly - with three goals in 16 minutes. However, West Ham isn't always a side you should judge too harshly early on.

By the 94th minute, the Hammers had pulled back a further three goals to equalise. That's including a spectacular own goal on the part of Davinson Sanchez - this was electric football.

It was a spectacular showing - anyone backing a draw (for example, with bet £10 get £30 offers) came up trumps.

Villa Show Liverpool How It's Done

When you look at a scoreline as grand as 7-2, and Liverpool are involved, you expect them to be the winners. It's been a whirlwind few seasons for the Reds, to say the least - but who could expect Villa to school them so much?

Aston Villa's recent phoenix impression consumed Liverpool in its wake - as Ollie Watkins' hat-trick helped to seal the Reds. Liverpool hit a shocking downturn only compounded by this match - if a score goes above 6, it's trouble.

Spurs Show United the Door

Manchester United aren't infallible, and Spurs - on the crest of a huge wave - made history at Old Trafford. Their away match saw Tottenham put six past the Red Devils while the home side only managed one.

It remains an odd, humiliating experience for United - and the biggest Spurs-United victory in almost a century.

It Wasn't All Bad for United

That's not to say that United didn't have their own share of victories. Back in February, Southampton travelled to Old Trafford to find themselves knocked back by nine goals. If you thought six goals meant trouble, you've never been trounced 9-0!

What's really surprising is that Southampton was actually top of the league back in November. There's been some big falls this year, though this might actually be the worst. Spare a thought!

The Fans Came Back

The PL atmosphere was something we've all been missing during the past year. After months away from the stadiums, fans finally made their way back to physical Premier League matches!

It's incredible how much we missed other fans. Quiet stadiums were very strange to behold, and fingers crossed - they're not coming back any time soon!

The Premier League is a showcase for world-class football unlike any other. While 2020/2021 was particularly special, there will hopefully be many more seasons like it to come.

What are some of your favourite footballing moments from the 20/21 season? Let us know - and what you're looking forward to in the weeks to come.
