Gifts for soccer fans

Gifts for soccer fans

Looking for the perfect gift for the football fan in your life? Whether it's for a birthday or Christmas, we have you covered with our handy guide.

Most teams change their kits every year, but we'll stay away from the easy gifts in this guide and provide you some inspiration for some more personal and unique gifts for football fans.

Pin badges

Many football fans collect different items of memorabilia. Some collect scarfs, ticket stubs or programmes, others can spend thousands or even millions on rare, signed or matchworn shirts. One of the most popular items to collect is pin badges. These are relatively inexpensive and are sold in and around most stadiums. Badges can include the club's logo, a team slogan, a replica of the club's kit or even custom pin badges to commemorate a particular match.

Their relatively cheap price makes them a popular item to collect with many fans having collections in the hundreds. I myself collect badges from every team I go to see - for £3 or £4 a time it's a nice memento of a visit to a new ground or a special match.

Groundhopping posters

Just as this website allows you to tick off the football grounds you have visited online, groundhopping posters allow you to follow your progress in the real world, with a physical poster to stick on your wall and tick off after every new ground visit.

This website sells a range of posters allowing fans to do just that - our A1 posters cover the 92 Club and National Leagues in England, the largest football grounds in Scotland and the biggest football grounds in Europe. Each poster is beautifully designed with custom short illustrations and a stats panel highlighting essential information about each ground including the capacity, year opened, record attendance and star ratings from our users.

Lego and other stadium building sets

There's nothing quite like building your own football stadium. Whilst computer gamers have been able to do this for a while in games like Minecraft, Lego and other companies and now brought this into the real world with the release of a number of building sets for football stadiums.

The Lego football stadium sets are massive, made up of thousands of pieces and taking many hours to build. So far, they've only done 3 stadiums - Old Trafford, Camp Nou and the Santiago Bernabeu, but more may be on the horizon (Wembley would be a great option, in my opinion).

Don't worry if you're not a fan of Man United, Barcelona or Real Madrid (or don't have the space or £300 lying around for Lego) because many clubs have cheaper alternatives. Companies including Microdesigns and Young Bricks have created smaller scale versions of many of your favourite stadiums, with dozens of designs now available including many grounds from the Premier League and Championship as well as continental Europe and other popular sports such as American football.

Custom patches

A growing trend that's big in America and just gaining traction on these shores are custom patches. They can be created and sewn onto almost any item of clothing to change a plain t-shirt or jacket into a one-of-a-kind unique piece of football memorabilia that will make you the envy of your club's fellow supporters.

Personalised FIFA player cards

Whilst famous videogame FIFA football May have been renamed, its popularity shows no sign of waning and fans of the series are eager to snap up any merch they can.

One great and popular gift is a giant personalised Ultimate Team card that mimics the game's most popular mode. Fans can upload their photo and stats to receive a life size cardboard cut out, complete with the face and favourite team.
