Best Signings of the 2021 Summer Transfer Window

Best Signings of the 2021 Summer Transfer Window

Football fans are well aware of just how exciting the transfer window can be. After all, it can be extremely decisive in terms of a team's success in the following season. A lack of signings is usually a bad indication for a team coming into the new season. While even just one or two good players can turn a team into title contenders. This is why football fans watch in anticipation as they await their clubs to announce some major signings.

This summer was really one of a kind when it comes to major transfers. There has likely never been a window with so much drama, twists, and turns. Of course, it is still hard to believe that some of these moves happened, but fans worldwide will be anticipating seeing just how well these players can perform at their new club. But who made the best signings of the summer transfer window?

Lionel Messi - PSG

If you told someone that Lionel Messi would leave Barcelona at the start of the summer, they would likely think you're crazy. After seeing to of coming to an agreement with his boyhood club, it looked like the whole fiasco from the previous summer had been resolved. However, after a crazy series of events, the Spanish club had no choice but to let their star man go. When it came down to it, PSG seized the opportunity and signed one of the best players of all time. On a free transfer, it's hard to say it was a bad transfer. It's hard to tell how well Messi will fit into the PSG set up, but he should be okay with Mbappe and Neymar by his side.

Cristiano Ronaldo

If you are a betting person, this was definitely a transfer that piqued your interest. For Cristiano Ronaldo to go back to Manchester United broke the internet. At the start of the summer, there would have been some crazy odds for this move to go through. If you missed out on that opportunity, at least Ruby Fortune has plenty of options for you. Even at the age of 36, Ronaldo is still a free-scoring player. He is certain to bag plenty of goals for his club in the coming season.

Jack Grealish

After a phenomenal season and a good Euro campaign, it was no surprise that Aston Villa would be forced to sell Grealish. His quality is top-notch, and he is well-deserving of a place in the Premier League champions side. It's yet to be seen if he will live up to his £100 million price mark, but he will undoubtedly have moments of quality.

Sergio Ramos

Another club legend who was leaving his club in Spain was Sergio Ramos. A very emotional departure for both Real Madrid fans and Ramos himself, the Spaniard would follow the same path as Lionel Messi. Again, it's safe to say this was a great move for the Parisians on a free transfer.
