A Look at Some of the Stadiums Set to Host the 2026 World Cup

The 2026 World Cup may seem far away, and generally speaking, it is. But fans are already getting excited for the biggest stage in the sport, and this will surely be a unique event with the tournament held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. While odds on the favourites have yet to release on gambling sites like GGBet, it isn't stopping fans from planning their trip and guessing the squads.

The World Cup will be held at several key venues across the tournament, and it will be fascinating to see how they hold up to global scrutiny. Let's look at some of the many grounds that will host this major tournament.

BMO Field

BMO Field is a stadium in Toronto, Canada that hosts the Toronto FC MLS club. It is the smallest stadium that will be featured in this event, and it has a very limited capacity of just over 30,000. However, that field is being expanded to accommodate the bigger World Cup crowd, with the total capacity set to be at just over 45,000. This is still a smaller capacity than any other stadium at this event.

AT&T Stadium

The biggest stadium at the World Cup is set in Arlington, Texas. This is where the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys play their games, typically with crowds of more than 90,000 people watching. The stadium also hosts major concerts, but this World Cup experience will be unlike any other. AT&T Stadium is known for having a state-of-the-art jumbotron, which will serve to enhance the viewing experience.

Estadio Azteca

Mexico is certainly the most passionate fanbase that is hosting the World Cup, and they also have one of the top stadiums, as well. Estadio Azteca is the massive Mexico City stadium that hosts Club America and Cruz Azul, two of the most famous teams in the nation. It is one of the ten biggest association stadiums in the world, with a capacity of more than 87,000. It will pose an interesting challenge, as it has an altitude of 2,200 meters.

Arrowhead Stadium

Another one of the major American stadiums at this event, Arrowhead Stadium, is based in Kansas City. This is where the NFL's reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, play, and the atmosphere in this stadium is never short of exhilarating. Arrowhead can hold a capacity of 76,000 people, and it will be one of the premier places to watch a match during the World Cup.

Estadio Akron

Estadio Akron is the second-smallest stadium that will host a World Cup matchup. This small stadium has a capacity of around 48,000, and it is based in the Mexican state of Jalisco. This stadium plays host to C.D Guadalajara most of the time, and this will certainly be the biggest event to take place here. Estadio Akron is framed by a scenic backdrop and will provide an intimate destination for fans to take in World Cup soccer.

MetLife Stadium

MetLife Stadium is a massive stadium in New Jersey that is where the New York Giants and New York Jets of the NFL play. This huge stadium has a capacity of 82,500, making it one of the biggest venues of the tournament. It appears that officials in New York are pushing for this venue to be the location for the World Cup Final, which would certainly make sense given its proximity to New York City.

SoFi Stadium

Another candidate to host the World Cup Final is SoFi Stadium. This massive 70,000-seat venue in Los Angeles can expand to 100,000 capacity for major events and was just built in 2020. It has state-of-the-art technology, a huge capacity, and is one of the premier stadiums in the country.
