The Best Football Ground In The UK For Atmosphere

The UK is home to some of the greatest football teams in the world and in our opinion is the home of football regardless of what Spanish, German or Italian fans will try and argue. When going to a game, picking a home and/or away fixture to go to is important and the atmosphere in that particular ground all but makes game day – today we look into some of the best grounds in the UK for atmosphere.

With it currently being the off season, away days fanatics have had to find alternative ways to get their entertainment on a Saturday afternoon, especially as no football and also no other sporting events that they are able to take a gamble on with accumulators. Many bookies have seen a trend of football punters migrating from sporting betting markets to online casinos, and this list of non-Gamstop casinos have been benefiting from this trend. With some of the best roulette, card tables and slots on the market tied in with huge deposit matches, there’s no wonder bookies aren’t expecting this trend to slow down once the football season is back next week.

One of the best stadiums for atmosphere in not just the UK but most likely in the world as well is the home of Liverpool, Anfield. The stadium in Merseyside has been the home of Liverpool FC since it was created in 1892. With a capacity of just over 54,000, the stadium has 4 stands; Anfield Road, Kenny Dalglish Stand, the Main Stand and of course the Spion Kop. The atmosphere is electric in here, and not many clubs can rival it in the world – especially on a European night, that’s when the Kop really comes to life.

Next on the list is that of Elland Road and home to the sleeping giant Leeds United. Elland Road has also been the home of Leeds since its formation in 1919 and has a capacity of just shy of 38,000. With them recently just being promoted back to where they belong in the Premier League, we are excited again to see the atmosphere of Elland Road; something that the Premier League has been missing. Alex Ferguson once came out and said that Elland Road was once “the most intimidating venue in Europe” and we hope that returns now they are in the big time again.

Finally, on the list is that of the current Scottish champions Celtic and their home ground Celtic Park. This all seater stadium, with a capacity of 60,411 is the largest stadium in Scotland and the sixth largest football stadium in the UK. Many football stars have played at the famous Celtic Park and have raved about it ever since, in fact, when Celtic beat Barcelona in 2012 2-1, Messi said after the game that “The Celtic fans deserve to be in Europe.”
