has rated Recreation Ground 2.5 out of 5.

tomgraham83's review of Recreation Ground

Long standing club in the united counties league, with facilities that reflect that.

Club was formed in 1935 by and named after the local steel works who were the main employer in the town.
Clubhouse was rebuilt about 15 years ago and small covered terrace now has a few seats.
Reclaimed bus shelters are used for cover behind one of the goals in order to comply with step 9 requirements but rarely used.

Location

In a mainly residential area with rugby, cricket and bowls clubs all on the same site.
15 min walk from the train station and also the town centre with a few pubs along the route

View

Bar with a balcony offers the best view of the playing action.

Facilities

Ample parking for what is normally needed as there\'s generally more players than spectators at S&L games.
