"Showing its age"

I've visited Elland Road twice now - my first visit was United's 4-0 win in 2005. Although once a great ground and venue for FA Cup Semi-Finals and the like, Elland Road is now beginning to show its age.
The stand to the right of the away fans is the largest and most impressive - towering over the rest of the ground. Unfortunately this was closed last time we went, due to Leeds' poor attendances at the time.
Leeds has a reputation for being one of the more unfriendly places to visit, but despite being a local derby, we didn't witness any trouble - although we did see one car with Sheffield United stickers in had had its windows put through.

Location

The ground is right next to the M621 motorway, but a couple of miles from Leeds city centre. Parking was relatively easy on an industrial estate quite close to the ground.

Away fans are housed in one corner where the view was good enough.

Food & Drink

There is a bar in the away end... I remember beer being served on one visit, but I think the police put a stop to the beer the second time I was there.

Police & Stewards

On our first visit we were kept in the ground for about an hour after the game. Second time we were allowed to leave at the same time as the Leeds fans.

Atmosphere

Relatively poor for a local derby, although this may be to do with the fact that a) the ground has a few empty seats nowadays and b) a whole stand was netted over on on one of our visits, meaning the Leeds fans were miles away from us.
