"Prices are a rip-off... Good home support though"

The fixture list was nice to us... kindly giving us a trip to Blackpool on August Bank Holiday weekend in the 2008/2009 season. We set-off early and planned to make a day of it in the late August sunshine, parking in the car park next to the stadium which was around £7 (I think) for all-day parking.

From the car park the stadium looks relatively impressive, with one (albeit rusty) stand covering half of the pitch and extending behind the goal. However, get to the away end and that's where the fun starts...

Away fans are housed in shoddy temporary seating that almost borders on feeling unsafe! The away end has no roof - which was okay for us in the August sun, but it must be awful in the winter months. To your left is an open space where I presume they'll start building another stand soon... however all you can see at the moment is Blackpool's Travelodge (FYI, some rooms overlook the pitch - good to know if the game is a sell out)!

We paid £26.50 on our trip to Bloomfield Road - a complete rip-off!

Location

Pretty easy to find (and park) by car, and close to the town centre... not sure how easy a train journey is though!

One burger van! No beer! :(

Police & Stewards

No problems when we went - we stood up all game, the stewards weren't nagging us to sit down!

Atmosphere

No roof on the away end means it's hard for the away fans to generate a good atmosphere, however I must the say the home support was the best I've seen for quite a while. The fans in the stand to the right (behind the goal) make a good amount of noise - even when they were losing. Top marks!
