"Atmosphere at Elland road is worth the trip alone"

has rated Elland Road 3.5 out of 5.

irongav's review of Elland Road

Leeds are a big club, good fanbase that are very passionate about their club (as they should be) great afternoon out, really good atmosphere, but proceed with caution if they are rivals or your fans have a history!
Parking £6, programmes £4 and tickets £36 - not the cheapest in the Championship!

Location

The ground easy to find and parking ample, right next to ground, but with hindsite I would park in away end (drive past ground on your right and park where the away coaches go) I say this as we had hassle getting back to car as first we were locked in and then when crowd was cleared had to put up with a bit of shall we say "banter"

View

Was dissapointed with my seat, upper tier in corner facing home fans, not the pitch!!! but if im honest it was far better than I thought it would be and had a good view, but am well over 6 foot so that probably helped as we remained standing for the game (leg room not enough for me)

Facilities

Usual (but did notice toilets had been redecorated!!! Maybe thats why the tickets are more than most in championship)

Food & Drink

Same old same old. Chicken balti pie was good, staff friendly

Police & Stewards

Police were great with traffic, was impressed. Very heavy handed with fans that were baiting and abusing the home fans, be prepared to be dragged kicking and screaming by about 6 or more if they decide that you are misbehaving! (the behaviour was no worse than I have seen at many away games and is usually left alone, maybe a warning), but the home fans were not punished for the exact same things!!! I found that a little strange! stewards were very friendly.

Atmosphere

Had no problems before the game, walked round stadium in colours, everyone friendly.

Atmosphere in ground was good, both sets of fans very vocal.

After the game we were locked in and had to wait for the police horses to clear the home fans that had gathered around our exit, they clearly wanted to say good bye and thanks for coming!!!! Bit of mild abuse getting back to car! If your fans have history or rivalry I'm sure you will have a simular experience.
