"Typical league 2!"

has rated Blundell Park 1.5 out of 5.

facebook-user-12727's review of Blundell Park

Nice little typical league 2 ground. Has seen better days but that is what makes it. Not the easiest to park. Good atmosphere can be created as the away stand has a low roof compared to many.
Police and stewards make the day enjoyable and arn't on your back to sit down every 5 seconds.
And it tends to get very cold and windy so wrap up warm.

Location

Blundell Park is on a housing estate and there for isn't the easiest to get to especially by coach and most of the streets leading up to the ground are pretty narrow and crowded. The police always have a certain place cordoned-off for visiting coaches virtually outside the away entrance, but if you travel by car be prepared to walk a short distance.

View

From the away end there are a few restrictions in the way of stantions but this only restricts a little of the pitch as they aren't wide. More like metal poles than concrete blocks.
The stand is a pretty old stand but leg room is ok. Holds just over 2000 i think.
All sides are under cover (with exception to a couple of the corners) so no need to worry about getting wet.

Facilities

Toilets are pretty basic but it is an old ground. They do have a bar in the away end that has Sky Sports on the TV and they do serve alcohol which is always good.

Food & Drink

The bar isn't any more expensive than your local pub and thats a big plus and the food is pretty much the same as any other league ground. It has seen better days tho.

Police & Stewards

The police are waiting for the coaches to arrive to guide them in and I'm sure they stay with them during the match to keep an eye on them with the ground being on a 'rough' estate. They also tend to give a police escort away from the ground to help prevent trouble and get you on your way quickly.
The stewards aren't your usual pushy 'sit down please', which infuriates most fans.

Atmosphere

The away end holds just over 2000 (I think) and has a low roof so it makes for a good atmosphere when there are good numbers travelling. Home supporters are the most vocal but they don't tend to get many fans. Friendly enough tho.
